Important Before Calling Us
|
Every year we’re called to property surrounding our City, Township and State Parks to trap manged and distempered raccoon due to over crowding. This is because so many people think it is legal to catch animals and release them wherever they want. Most people aren't aware of the State and Federal Wildlife Control Laws and mean no harm, but they’re overpopulating and killing with kindness. Not only the animals released but the animals living in the parks. All animals are property of the State and due respect.
Indiana and Michigan require a Wildlife Control Operators License to deal with all wild animals. Home owners can legally deal with a Raccoon or Coyote if they damage or are about to damage your property. That means you can trap them if trapping is legal in your Township, or shoot them if shooting is legal. Once trapped, your only option is to humanly euthanize the animal or release it on Private Property You Have Permission to Release On.
Not City, Township, State or Federal property or farmer Joe’s down the road. Not on the side of the road down by the creek or river or the swamp out back. Once people realize the State release regulations we are obligated to, they can appreciate the amount of time and money involved in obtaining release property.
Wildlife Control is dangerous, not only for the operator but your family, neighbors or employees and requires a State DNR license, insurance, a truck load of equipment and the knowledge to use it. 99% of the do-it-yourselves violate the law in some manner when dealing with wildlife, usually release regulations.
So you’re different, more responsible and you can release coon on your uncles’ farm. OK:
Where is your uncles farm, it’s illegal to transport animals across county or State borders.
Describe a coon with: distemper, dumb rabies, rabies, mange or were you planning on releasing diseased animals on your uncle?
What will you do with a mean or diseased coon foaming at the mouth, or a coon with no hair? How about its carcass and its blood your pet is licking up while you take the animal out of the trap.
How exactly will you clean the trap and your cars trunk or transport vehicle. Raccoon roundworms are very hard to kill.
What will you do with a non target animal like your neighbor’s cat that’s transformed into Mr. Hyde snarling wildcat?
Or my favorite, the Skunk, or other protected species you have no license to deal with? Life can go real bad, real fast as your neighbors watch a non target species die of heat stroke while you wait for a DNR Licensed Professional to transport and release a protected species. I can safely say 100% of the do-it-yourselves aren't aware of these scenarios, or how many people, pets and animals can be impacted by their inexperience, because they don’t have the knowledge to see it coming. They obtain the trap thinking they can save some money.
Even when all goes right and a novice catches a raccoon, most people suffer some type of property damage from the caged coon.
Poison is illegal and anyone advocating its use should be reported to the DNR.
Why take a chance with your family, home, business or your own safety. Let Awesome Critter Gitters Wildlife Removal and Control Experts Guarantee to remove the animals and keep them out.
